New Exhibition Now Open! The life of Florence Desmond
Step back into the glamour of the pre-war music hall at Ripley Museum, next to Ripley Village Hall. Our latest exhibition explores the life of Florence Desmond , the celebrated music hall star who made her home at Dunsborough House on The Green. Best remembered for her witty and risqué performances, Desmond’s recording of “The Deepest Shelter in Town” later found new life in several World War II music compilations, cementing her place in popular culture.
