About the event
We are delighted to welcome Anna Cusack, who will be speaking on The Festive Year in Early Modern England.
Anna’s research interests are broadly focused on early modern English society from c.1480–1820, with particular attention to social history, the experiences and treatment of marginalised individuals and communities, and the history of crime and punishment. Her work reminds us that celebrations, customs, and traditions often existed alongside hardship and exclusion and that understanding the past helps us better understand the present.
A passionate champion of public engagement with history, Anna also has a strong interest in local history and public history, making this an especially relevant and thought-provoking talk for our community.
