About the event

Discover the fascinating history of Horsley Station in this engaging local history talk by Stephen Groom. From wartime secrets and famous film appearances to the remarkable deal that brought the railway to our corner of Surrey, Stephen will separate fact from fiction and revisit dramatic moments such as the Great Horsley Derailment, drawing on eyewitness accounts and rare photographs.

 

Stephen Groom is a retired media lawyer, former East Horsley Parish Councillor, co-founder of the Friends of Horsley Station, and an active member of the Horsley Heritage Group, where he helps preserve and digitise local historical archives.
