The gallery beyond the dental surgery was, for many years, a central feature of the village, namely the Paper Shop run by Roger and Rosemary Hoggett. They retired in 2006 when it became Ellwood Gallery and it has been gallery space ever since and now has a picture framing business opposite.
Next door the dental surgery has also housed a variety of businesses including various antique shops and even Ripley Post Office.
