The building seen below was for many years the local National Westminster Bank situated in Ripley High Street opposite Sage Antiques. Following its closure it was given to Send and Ripley History Society subject to its removal from the site. Under the direction of John Slatford ably assisted by Derek Bromley, Ted Goldup, and many others this was achieved and moved in one piece to its present position near Ripley Village Hall on 25/26th April 1992. Following a period of minor repairs and redecoration, the Send and Ripley History Society Museum, was officially declared open on Saturday afternoon, 25th September 1993 by Lord Forte of Ripley.
