Annual programme of events - 2008

A continuous programme of evening meetings are held monthly during the winter, addressed by experts in local history, archaeology, etc. In addition, there are outings in the summer, arranged to historic places or buildings, of interest both locally and further afield.

Friday 25th January – A Circle 8 film by Terence Patrick on "Tales of Old Guildford" (main hall).

Wed.20th February – AGM, Cheese and Wine, and short talks by members on "Finds and Treasures".

Wed. 19th March – An illustrated talk by Iain Wakeford on The History of Woking.

Wed.16th April – Roger Nicholas will talk about Guildford in 1913.

Tues. 13th May – A walk around Woking Palace, led by Phillip Arnold. Details in the Journal.

Wed. 4th June - All day outing to Henley-on-Thames.  Details in the Journal.

Tues. 8th July – A walk around the houses of Send Marsh Green.  7.30 pm.

Wed. 17th Sept – "From the Archives", a talk by David Rose, Editor of the Surrey Advertiser.

Wed. 15th October – An illustrated talk about Shalford by Margaret Dierden.

Wed. 19th November – "The Guildford Guy Riots" – A talk by Gavin Morgan.

Wed. 17th December – The Christmas Social.-members only
